We use your data solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Rooted platform. This includes delivering content and messages, personalizing your experience, showing relevant marketplace listings and job postings, ensuring platform security, and communicating with you about service updates. Rooted does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Messaging and Communication Data
Private messages sent through Rooted are stored securely and are only accessible to the participants of each conversation. We do not read, monitor, or share the contents of your private messages except when required by law or to enforce our Terms of Service. Message metadata (such as timestamps) may be used to maintain conversation integrity and deliver notifications.
4. Marketplace and Job Listing Data
Information you provide when creating marketplace listings or job postings is used to display your listings to other users. Public listings may be visible to all users of the platform, including unauthenticated visitors. We recommend not including sensitive personal information in public listings. Contact details shared in listings are subject to the visibility rules of each listing.
6. Account Deletion Rights
You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time, directly from Settings → Delete my account. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, posts, messages, listings, and other content from the platform. Some data may be retained in anonymized form for analytics, or as required by law.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. Once you delete your account, we begin a process to securely remove your data from our active systems. Certain information may be retained in backups or archives for a limited period to comply with legal obligations.
8. Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit, secure authentication, access controls, and regular security assessments. While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
9. Third-Party Services
Rooted uses Stripe to process payments for premium Boost features. When you make a purchase, your payment information is handled directly by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. We may also use other third-party services for hosting, analytics, and push notifications.
